Quality Training Key to a Productive Workforce
By Beth Meguschar
DWD’s Workforce Education and Training Division makes sure your team gets high-value instruction.
There are many employee training programs out there vying for the attention of employers.
The INTraining team, part of the Department of Workforce Development’s (DWD) Workforce Education and Training division, is constantly vetting providers and their programs to make sure they are accredited and providing quality instruction in a variety of occupational fields.
An employer can visit INTraining’s web site to find providers around the state who present specific occupational training. Many of the providers offer access to their programs through state and federal funding.
Once an employer establishes a relationship with a training provider, the relationship can be used as a direct pipeline for future hires. Needless to say, this creates a substantial benefit for the employer.
DWD’s Workforce Education and Training division also maintains Indiana’s Promoted Industry Certifications list, which features industry recognized certifications that have been vetted by employers and found to have value in the world of work.
Think of the Promoted Industry Certifications List as a mechanism of quality control over credit- and non-credit-bearing training programs.
