TOM SCHUMAN

  • BizVoice® editor and senior vice president of communications and operations for the Indiana Chamber
  • Helped start BizVoice in mid-1998, following 13 years in the newspaper business in Watseka, Illinois; Wabash, Indiana; and Anderson, Indiana
  • Graduate of Ball State University, with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science, and East Central High School (St. Leon, Indiana)
  • BizVoice favorites: Annual Award winners – telling their success stories;
  • When not working: Travel, sporting events (been to three of the four tennis Grand Slams and seeking to see games at all major-league baseball stadiums)

TONY SPATARO

  • BizVoice art editor; creative director for the Indiana Chamber; producer of EchoChamber podcast
  • Joined BizVoice and the Indiana Chamber in 1998 after working as a production artist for Bates Midwest (Roman Brand Group)
  • Graduate of University of Saint Francis (then Saint Francis College), earning a bachelor’s degree in fine/commercial art, and Rensselaer Central High School
  • BizVoice favorites: I enjoy meeting amazing people from all across the state and being able to tell their stories through words and photos
  • When not working: You can find me in the studio, painting, out on the bike riding the trails of Indianapolis or flipping through albums at local record stores

REBECCA PATRICK

  • BizVoice managing editor; vice president of PR and government communications for the Indiana Chamber
  • Joined the Chamber and began working on BizVoice in May 2003; background in public relations, copywriting and corporate communications in both Indiana and New York City: senior writer/editor for winter sports magazine for three years

CHARLEE BEASOR

  • BizVoice writer/editor; communications and PR manager for the Indiana Chamber
  • First joined the Chamber and began working on BizVoice in 2010 after prior newspaper experience that included the Hendricks County Flyer; following nearly two years of freelance work, returned in 2016
  • Graduate of Franklin College, with bachelor’s degree in newswriting and broadcast journalism, and South Putnam Jr./Sr. High School
  • BizVoice favorites: I love learning people’s stories and helping connect business-related issues to everyday life, such as education or the environment. My favorite BizVoice moments have included interviewing tennis champion Venus Williams for a story about earning her bachelor’s degree with Indiana University East and meeting people from all walks of life and business.
  • When not working: I’m busy raising two daughters, spending time with family and friends and being an active member of Good Samaritan Episcopal Church in Brownsburg. I also watch too much television, play golf when the weather is nice and enjoy crafting and baking with my girls.
